Good riddance.

You brought us to our knees more times than we can count on our fingers and toes.

You said we could be honest about our goals and intentions and beliefs and that was a lie. You taught us that companies won’t appreciate our enthusiasm for growth.

You brought us too much freedom to the point of not knowing where to go or what to do.

You forced us out of positions, relationships, commitments, and anything that drained us.

You made us count pennies to pay for rent.

You showed us what it’s like to trust untrustworthy people.

You taught us to keep our mouth closed about our thoughts, feelings, and goals.

You made us feel empty, hopeless, and angry.

You had us draft suicide letters in our minds.

You pushed us out of our comfort zone on dirt roads covered in ice, attempting to hold wheels whenever we could.

You reminded us that when we try to play big, you made sure to make us small again.

You created a hell that we chose to live in. As much as we tried clawing out, like quicksand, we fell back into this pit.

You had us question our abilities, our skills, our entire being.
