We moved across from a cemetery
and storage unit
last June -
no wonder the price was affordable
I was once told
a cannibal was buried in that graveyard,
Alferd Packer,
“The Colorado Cannibal”
known to have killed five men
as they traveled through
the Colorado wilderness
Supposedly, he killed them all
eating chunks of flesh
as he hibernated in the winter
on their expedition for gold -
He ended up dying
from dementia
and the kids like him,
he no longer has a tombstone
it kept getting stolen
He may or may not
have his skull buried with him
because rumors point to it
getting stolen,
so now it’s a headless cannibal
buried in our backyard.
We haven’t had any
hauntings,
but that doesn’t mean
he isn’t watching.
